Planning a journey

Choose your start and destination, or tap directly on the waterway map. Canal Companion shows your route, distance, locks and estimated journey time.

Cruise Mode

During a cruise the map follows your position and direction of travel. The next lock or bridge, remaining distance, journey time and locks remaining are shown as you go.

Nearby & Ahead

Nearby shows useful places around you. Ahead shows locks, bridges, moorings, water points and other useful places along your planned route.

Reporting a problem

Use Report to tell other boaters about an obstruction, fallen tree, lock or bridge problem, low water, closure or another navigation issue.
